In presence of the French, Italian and Swiss authorities, the International Day of Amity and Reconciliation (IDAR) was celebrated in Bern, the Capital of Switzerland and at the Castle of Laupen near Bern. The festivities took place in a setting reflecting the image and tradition of the host country, Switzerland.

IDAR - International Day of Amity and Reconciliation

Every year, the International Day of Amity and Reconciliation is celebrated on September 20th, symbolically on the eve of the International Day of Peace, under the patronage of the United Nations. This International Day contains an universal appeal to pacific rapprochement and respectfully appointment of peoples, reconciliation and harmonization of cultures, finalizing in a real vision of peace. The federative aspect between peoples and cultures of this International Day takes a particular significance and stout importance in an overly tense international context, impregnated by aversion and hostility, struck by an unprecedented violence and marked by fanaticism and contempt for others. The mythical symbol of the International Day of Amity and Reconciliation is the famous GLOBE of PEACE. Every year and according to tradition is lit during the opening ceremony of the festivities, the flame within the GLOBE of PEACE. The celebrations take place in presence of international authorities and famous personalities in a solemn setting and are accompanied by a rich cultural program fascinating the general public.
