Tunisia first destination in Africa

World Tour 2016-2019
  


Officially started on 24 April 2016 at the Senate of the French Republic in Paris and after having traveled 17 European countries, the mythical Flame of Amity crossed on 6 March 2017 the Mediterranean to conquer Africa on behalf of Amity and Concord. The honor of the first destination on the African continent has returned to Tunisia.

from 7 to 10 March 2017.







Official welcome at the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts of Tunisia

Tunis 8 March 2017, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts of Tunisia, Mrs. Selma Elloumi-Rekik officially received H.E. Baron Kleiner de Grasse, President of the IOWDOK and IOFARN - International Organization for Amity and Reconciliation of Nations in occasion of passage of the Flame of Amity World Tour in Tunisia. The Minister paid tribute to this laudable initiative that will bring Tunisian friendship to more than 112 countries and 2000 cities in the world and expressed the gratitude of Tunisia to became the starting point of the Flame of Amity Tour on the African continent.




Official welcome at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Tunisia

Tunis 8 March 2017, the Minister of Youth and Sports Mrs. Magdoline Alcharna and the State Secretary for Sport Mr. Imed Jabri officially received H.E. Baron Kleiner of Grasse, President of the International Organization for Amity and Reconciliation of Nations and a delegation of the IOWDOK. During this meeting, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Flame of Amity for France, Mr. Alain Leforestier, the Tunisian Government affirmed a major presence at the first edition of the International Forum of Better Living Together - FIMVE - from 18 to 21 October 2018 as well as the realization of various projects related to Tunisian youth in collaboration with the IOFARN.          



Official welcome at the Governorate of Tunis 

Tunis 8 March 2017, the Governor of Tunis, Mr. Omar Mansour received H.E. Baron Kleiner de Grasse, President of the International Organization for Amity and Reconciliation of Nations, during a official reception at the State Headquarters in the presence of the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many authorities of Tunis. At the end of the conference was officially declared the adherence of Tunis to the WFCAR - World Federation Cities of Amity and Reconciliation, an international network under the patronage of the IOFARN, which will federate over 2000 Cities around the world until 2020.




H.E. Baron Kleiner de Grasse recipient of the Medal of Tunis

Tunis 8 March 2017, the Mayor of the City of Tunis Mr. Seif Allah Lasram and members of the Municipality welcomed H.E. Baron Kleiner de Grasse and the delegation of IOWDOK on occasion of the passage of the Flame of Amity World Tour in Tunis. The Baron Kleiner de Grasse received the Medal of Tunis from the Mayor of Tunis, Mr. Seif Allah Lasram, who praised and paid tribute to the extraordinary engagement for reconciliation and peace of the President of the IOFARN.



Official welcome at the Presidency of Monastir

Monastir 9 March 2017, H.E. Baron Kleiner de Grasse and the IOWDOk delegation were officially received by the President of the Special Delegation of Monastir, Mr. Nabil Hmida and many regional authorities. At the end of the constructively meeting, the City of Monastir joined officially the World Federation Cities of Amity and Reconciliation - WFCAR.



Festivities in Tunisia

Monastir 8 March 2017, the Flame of Amity arrived on Thursday at the city of Monastir thus marking the starting point of the Tour across the African continent. Carried by young athletes, the Flame started at the Presidential Palace, towards the Municipality of Monastir with stops at various monuments in the city, finally reaching the Ribat, oldest and most important fortress in the Maghreb region. Three days of festivities were organized by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Tunisian Embassy in Switzerland to host the Flame of Amity World Tour.
